Bieber Fever

1/26/11
 Say whaaaat?

Justin Bieber, Love Magazine. Not many similarities there, considering the fact that Love is often under the gun for their affinity with model nudity (See Huffington Post's article on the issue entitled Porn or Art?). That's why it's such a shocker that, for their fifth issue, the good people over at Love chose other than the Biebs for their cover. Yeah, I'm still confused too, especially when the alternate cover is factored into the picture:

It's not as bad as it looks; technically the one on the left is a man.

I'll admit it, Bieber's picture is a damn good one. It was, after all, shot by Terry Richardson. But that's where my praise ends and the confusion sets in again. My big question is, what will the shots inside look like? If the Justin Bieber spread is anything like the ones Love usually does then you can bet that there will be a lot of happy Beliebers out there and a nasty child pornography case on Love's hands.

Jil Sander Spring 2011 Campaign

1/13/11

This is another one of those instances where I know that these photos have been out for a day or so, but I like them so much that I'm posting them anyways.  My favorite advertising campaigns (aside from those shot by Juergen Teller) are the ones that are innovative without being overly conceptual.  These Willy Vanderperre shot images perfectly embody that.  The use of lighting is beautiful and unexpected, plus, Daria Strokous's pink hair goes perfectly with the upbeat collection.

Barneys Fall 2010 CATalouge

If you're an avid reader of this site (I'm not sure whether anyone is), then you will know that I have a love for cats which reaches, if not surpasses, my love for fashion.  So when cats and great clothes are together, it can never be a bad thing.  It's been documented before a couple of times, so it's time to continue the trend.  Lindsey Wixson, whom is really growing on me, shot here by Walter Pfeiffer for Barneys New York.  I was gonna just post my favorite shots, but then I realized that they included a storyline with them, so how could I leave any out?

Aquascutum Fall Campaign

Shot by Willy Vanderperre, featuring Karlie Kloss, Matt Benstead, Jacob Coupe, and Tristan Knights.  I like the moody English background, but in all honesty, the boys are my favorite part.

Stefanel Fall 2010 Campaign

I won't lie, I'm a sucker for a nice, simple ad campaign, and this one for Stefanel is pretty well executed.  Starring Daria Werbowy and shot by Mario Testino, these clothes look so cozy and are everything I want to be wearing while walking to class come fall.  I really like blanket-y sweaters, as I've mentioned before on our blog, and these ones are absolute perfection.  On another note, is anyone getting tired of Native American as inspiration?  I thought I would be by now, but I'm still not.  It's like the trend that keeps on giving.

Stately Snooki

Okay, I know that Jersey Shore is not exactly fashion related and therefore not really an appropriate topic for this blog.  But, come on, the premiere is tonight, and aren't y'all excited too?  Besides, I have an actual point in posting this picture:  doesn't Snooki look good?  I mean, not good, but good for her.  Obviously she's looking like her lovable, trashy self, but she looks way more put together than last season.  Plus, her makeup is actually looking pretty great, her hair may be over-the-top but it's on tread for fall, and her shirt has a heart around the words "DRUNK FOOD," so you've got to love that.  Maybe it's just the wine glass that makes he look classier (although she's not holding it by the stem), but I'm loving Snooki a la season 2.  Besides, Terry Richardson shot this, so it counts as fashion talk.  Officially.

Freja posing as Terry Richardson, and brothers Enzo and James on Terry's Diary.  Katie, second picture, Gap glasses much?  Apparently these ones are Lanvin.
