CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

11/17/10
JAX

As we know, Billy Reid won the CFDA/Vogue grand prize on Monday, with Prabal Gurung and Eddie Borgo each earning a runner up title.  And that's all good and well, but what's really important is what everyone was wearing!  I had a lot of favorites, as expected, but there were definitely a few missteps as well.  Read on for some of the most interesting.

How freaking cute are Joseph Altuzarra and his mother?  I love her strange, almost Tavi-purple hair color.  The strapless dress with glasses and a watch looks so chic.  She is fantastic.

Do you know who these two are?  Yes, that is nominee Christian Cota on the right, but on his left is... Yaya Dacosta from cycle three of America's Next Top Model!  She always was one of my favorites (when I still watched that show).  In case you were wondering, she was just in the critically acclaimed film, The Kids are Alright, with Julianne Moore; and, she had a long run on All My Children in 2008.  Who knew?

Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, and Richard Chai all look so bitchy.  It really is not becoming.

Didn't Blake Lively's mother ever teach her that you have to wear a black bra underneath black clothes?  Admittedly, I've had this problem before myself, but she has handlers to take care of how she looks.  How did they miss this?  Also, on a side note, has Blake ever worn anything that is not verging on slutty?  I'm getting so sick of her, and I have no idea why she's on the cover of Vogue's best dressed issue.

Really, Jenna Lyons?  You are the creative director of J. Crew, one of the best styled brands out there right now, and this is what you came up with?  I know camo is really on-trend right now, but I just don't think that it is appropriate for this event.

Peter Dundas and Joan Smalls.  I know that she looks a little ridiculous, but I love this outfit.  Only a girl that's six feet tall and probably 110 lbs. could pull it off, though.  Which luckily, she is.

Here we have Fei Fei Sun with Phillip Lim.  All I have to say, is that this is truly unflattering.  And if it's not flattering on a supermodel, then...

Initially I wanted to say that there was a little too much going on with Eugenia Gonzalez Ruiz-Olloqui's look, but something about it is just so endearing.  I love the wrap platforms, and the feather hair piece is just quirky enough to make the whole outfit adorable.

Constance Jablonski looks like the perfect ballerina with an edge, here with the boys from Rag & Bone.

Harley Viera-Newton's legs almost exactly match her dress.

And my three favorites of the night: Hanneli Mustaparta in Helmut Lang (left picture, center), Pamela Love (center picture, right), and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava (right picture, left).  Each are absolute perfection in their own way.

Yaya! Joan Smalls! Can we please vote that they were best dressed? I love them both.
