an A for effort, but B for execution. the above looks doesn't exactly exemplify the collection as a whole, but they were my favorites by far. the one on the right is highly reminiscent of stella mccartney's pre-fall 2010 collection (katie's current look of the moment).
ms. roy's show was much more grown up than those past, and showcased a menagerie of tailored pantsuits, as well as the usual fair of party dresses. there was some intense detailing, plus lots of sparkle, metallic, and generally new years-y pieces, which isn't exactly my taste but rachel roy pulled it off as well as it could be done.
