alexander mcqueen, r.i.p.

alexander mcqueen was one of, if not our absolute, favorite designer[s] here at les deux; the news of his suicide is incredibly devastating surely to all familiar with his work.  i hope i'm not being presumptuous in saying that tim blanks from the style file blog at style.com stated our feelings on the situation perfectly.  i would try to put my own thoughts into words but i'm sure that they would not come out so eloquently.

"it's awful to imagine him trying--and failing--to cope [with his mother's recent death], and one can only hope that, if he was looking for peace, he found it.  for everyone left behind, there will eventually be consolation, however scant right now, in a body of work whose power will never die."
