jax likes... rick owens

yesterday morning katie and i, along with a few friends, decided to wake up early and eat a nice big breakfast at the pancake pantry.  afterwards, we ended up burning off the calories the way we do best: shopping.  after hitting a few of the usual stores our friends departed, but katie and i continued to shop.  after a failed attempt at visiting karen elson's store (it appeared to be closed, although according to their hours it should have been open), we ended up in a boutique in green hills called h. audrey.  katie had been to this store previously, but i had not.  never in my life had i seen such beautiful and well crafted clothes in person (the only "big city" i have been to is atlanta).

getting to my point: one of the main designers currently carried there is rick owens.  i've been familiar with rick owens's designs for a while now, but seeing his pieces in real life gave me an entirely new appreciation for his line.  standout pieces at the store that we found include...

silk blend cardigan

quilted coat with tie

cashmere and silk draped dress

wedge leather booties

denim leggings

blister leather jacket

on a side note, the store had this jacket in a variety of colors, but the gray is particularly stunning.  note the cloth paneling on the inner sleeves, which makes it more breathable.  probably my perfect dream leather jacket.

while these clothes read just fine on a computer screen, trust me when i say that they look about a thousand percent better in person.

soo glad i got to experience h. audrey yesterday.  aside from these and other great rick owens pieces, they carry rag & bone, yigal azourel, apc, alexander mcqueen, alexander wang, and helmut lang, just to name a few.  definitely worth a trip if you're shopping in the nashville area.

if you do happen to stop by there, however, keep your hands off my size 26 rag & bone pants.  i've made it my personal goal to fit perfectly in them by the end of january before i go back to school, and if they're gone, i might rage.
