katie likes...boots.

10/1/09
yes, i know, SUCH a broad category, but i absolutely couldn't narrow it down. i started off with booties, but then i wanted to write about over-the-knee boots, and then i thought lace-up boots would be better.

finally, i came to the conclusion that all boots are good and fabulous, especially for this fall weather that's creeping into existence.

acne wedges - price: unknown - fashiontoast

wedged, platform boots are driving me crazy right now. especially when they hit the ankle in the perfect spot, like rumi neely's do in the picture above.

alice + olivia for payless park sweater wedge boot - $49.99 - payless

super intense + super cheap = love. i have never considered payless a viable source for cute shoes, but apparently they are. these gems are only 50 DOLLARS! i feel like this must not be true, but alas, it is.

ash parfum leather zip back wedge boots - $300.91 - ASOS

super similar to the payless fold over wedges, but way more versatile (and expensive). i feel like these are super sleek, and would go with anything and everything in my winter wardrobe. i love the zipper in the back too. check out these shoes on ASOS to see more pictures. they're fabulous.

surface to air lace up wedge boot - $492.40 - ASOS

another great pair from ASOS. super badass chic.

naomi lace up bootie - $32.80 - forever21

do these remind anybody else of figure skating shoes? as much as i've been loving the ballet trend lately, these may push me toward a figure skating obsession (don't tell me you didn't want to be michelle kwan after the 1998 olympics).

chloe lace-up wedge boots - $695 - net-a-porter

OMG (yes, i use omg and all sorts of other stupid abbreviations), these boots will be the death of me. they are insanely perfect. if i had $695, these would be the staple of my fall wardrobe. literally, you could not pry these off of my feet.

candela nyc over the knee boot - $398 - urban outfitters

riding boots meets over the knee perfection. i feel like these simple leather boots could be incorporated into anyone's wardrobe regardless of style. they're super classic, and then you've got that lovely horizontal edge at the top. wear them with shorts, dresses, jeans, nothing at all. they appear to be so universal.

studded strap boot - $32.80 - forever21

again, another pair of super cute, super cheap boots. i love forever21, and hate to bash,
however,
i must say that my serious wear and tear of their products in the past has led to the premature death of almost everything i've ever owned from that brand. that said, grunge has been in for quite some time, and my guess is that the lifespan of that trend is coming to an end, so a cheap pair of super cute, super edgy boots like this seems like a reeeeally nice investment to me.

balmain crystal animal-print boots - $2,990 - net-a-porter

alas, the crown jewel of boots. the gorgeous crystals on these balmain's may as well spell out "don't bother looking anymore; you've found what you came for." they are so intense! it drives me crazy that they even exist, because there's no way i could own them unless i cashed in my college scholarship and sold my car...
but maybe those are viable options for these precious gems...

hope you enjoyed my rants and raves on some incredible pieces from shoe-heaven. even if you didn't, i recommend investing in some boots this fall; you can't really go wrong with any style.
